Zimheroes is a theme created to remind the world “not to forget Zimbabwe” which the most Zimbabweans away from home believe only comes on the news when there are no other major news in the media.
Zimheroes in The Beginning
Zimheroes was launched four years ago in the heart of Notting Hill where Pax spoke about the characters and why he has started making carnival characters.
The event became a meeting and networking place for Notting Hill Carnival artists and international visitors to Notting Hill Carnival Carnival. It featured performances, a barbecue, an open mike and a surprise performance by Pax and artists from around London and Wales. There was also a Zimheroes exhibition and films from carnivals round the world from GCC’s sort after international carnival footage.

Pax Nindi created carnival pieces (3 giant puppets) following over 25 years working in carnival as a strategist and international carnival expert. The 3 characters, Ambuya Nehanda, Bob Marley and Bob Mugabe represent heroes in Zimbabwe’s historical timeline.
“My original idea” explains Pax “was to build just a giant inflatable head of one of these characters and blow it up at this year's Notting Hill Carnival judging point in front of the international media to make my artistic statement on the Zimbabwean crisis. Following legal advise I decided not to go that way ”
Zimheroes on the Road
In the summer of 2010, Pax took these carnival giants to Chester Giants Carnival procession where he also spoke at the first UK Giants Conference.
In 2011 he took the Bob Marley giant into the UKCCA Carnival Streets and to the Milton Keynes Giant Parade where each year it has been participating in the Giant Parade.
